A blog created for families of children enrolled in the Challenge Center at Garfield Elementary in order to share resources, announce special events, and participate in discussions relevant to raising their gifted child.
T just started taking a class at this new Chinese school. This school is directed at younger children and at brand new Mandarin speakers. T is attending the Monday, Thursday class at 5pm.

He is also involved with Sioux Falls Chinese School (http://sites.google.com/site/sfcsweb/about-us) though the classes at Sioux Falls Chinese School aren't as good a match for him right now, as they are more directed at teaching writing to kids who already speak Mandarin.
Just a reminder - The next Challenge Center 4th and 5th grade summer get-together will be on this evening at 7:00 pm at Thunder Road. We will start out playing a game of Human Fooseball. Fooseball and the playground are free. I will provide the tickets for everyone to play water wars. Families can then disperse to ticketed games and rides. Three universal tickets are $12. One ticket can be used to: Drive a kart (must be 57” tall to drive a single kart) Double karts are also available for an adult driver and a child passenger, or Play one round of 18 hole mini-golf or One person can climb the Rock or Play a game of Water Wars (two, three or four players) or Bat in the batting cage (three $2 tokens with 25 pitches per token).
